Iranian-American Student tortured by UCLA Racist Police!

This was an outrageous shocking news that I got, and I'm sure most of you who read my weblog already know it, but I feel responsible to put it up although everytime I think about it, it makes me incredibly sad...
This happens in 21st century in a country that has statute of liberty as its main symbol, and talks about world peace and war on terrorism, where city of 200 nationalities and ethnicities and backgrounds lives in its heart...
Here's the story that I got:

"Iranian taserd at UCLA library:
An Iranian student was tazed by UC Police in the UCLA library last night... it was an absolute excess of force by the police and I would appreciate your help in raising awareness about it. You can read an article by one of the local news stations here. Or even watch a video of what happened taken by another student. Police were called after he refused to leave the library simply for not having his student ID card on him... Once police arrived he began leaving but as the police became aggressive he become defensive, at which point UCPD shocked him with a taser gun at least 5 times. It's currently being investigated by the school."

This happens, to a 23 year old student, since he refused to show his student card as a sign to fight with racism, might have refused or just have forgotten indeliberately...This happens to me and you and all of us...

and it reminds me a lot of Saadi's famous poem,

"Of one Essence is the human race,
thus has Creation put the Base;
One Limb impacted is sufficient,
For all Others to feel the Mace"

It truly made me sick t my stomach. I feel sad not just for me but for my son's future. Goes to show that civil liberties should never be taken for granted. Keep up the great work on your blog.

I have to be honest with you ..
at first when i saw the video footage i was really distressed , but at the same time i felt a deep respect for the guy. To me it looked like this guy was going down fighting and the things he was saying were so true and he was very brave to say those thing. Later on when i found out he was persian ... i gotta be honest with ya ... i felt so proud ... and sad at the same time but i guess it depends how you look at it.

All in all ... RESPECT to that dude for being a fighter and his self esteem ( look closely and you'll see what i mean )! i dont like passive people or people who surrender too easily !!!

I was so distressed on the day I saw the video, I was extremely mad and so I went to LAPD's website. "Los Angeles Police Department" And so I sent an angry letter to them. I said I hope those raicist criminal cops that are working for you go behind bars and be tasered with a gun to see how it feels. I also told them I hope that the student win a court and charge you for millions of dollars so these stupid cops lose their jobs. I don't care if FBI comes after me but I don't mind fighting with these law breakers for justice.
I love this dude now. He seems like a hero and wish him the best and money.
